During Vietnam downed aircrews used signal marker panels to signal their position to rescue aircrafts. Army aviation crewmen typically carried a folded panel in the knife pocket located within the right thigh pocket of their Nomex flyer trousers.

    Highly visible and reasonably durable. If you intend to store it in the hook knife pocket of a flight suit or A2CU, you may need to cut it in half to comfortably fit.
